We Value and Create Opportunities

Employees

We are committed to an excellent employee experience and promote a culture of
appreciation, trust, and continuous development.

Our employees are the heart of our company and crucial to our long-term success. Therefore, we strive to offer them an excellent working environment and comprehensively promote their personal and professional development.

Employees | Our Goals

As part of our sustainability strategy, we have set clear goals in the areas of employee development, diversity, inclusion, and equality.

Training and Development

We aim for an excellent employee experience and high-performing teams by investing intensively in training and development: By 2030, we want to increase the average training hours of our employees to 30 hours per year.

Diversity, Inclusion, and Equality

Furthermore, we are firmly committed to diversity, inclusion, and equality: By 2030, we aim to increase the share of women in management to at least 32.2%.

For our employees

We see it as our duty to provide our employees with the environment of a top employer, enabling continuous development – both professionally and personally. This includes attractive and diverse work tasks, comprehensive opportunities for professional and personal development, as well as international experience opportunities. Key components are ensuring equality and individual support, as well as creating exceptional opportunities for all our employees.

A sustainable working environment includes a balanced work-life relationship. We support our employees with performance-based, attractive compensation, profit-sharing, numerous social benefits, and our in-house kindergarten.

Our values of courage, trust, and customer focus are the central foundation of our leadership and corporate culture.

We are committed to a work environment characterized by openness, a sense of community, respect, and appreciation. Volkswagen Financial Services was one of the first companies to sign the “Charta der Vielfalt” in 2007, a German corporate initiative to promote diversity.

Active Diversity Management

Volkswagen Financial Services promotes a diverse corporate culture through a variety of measures. In particular, this includes a wide range of exchange and information formats on topics such as neurodiversity, stereotypical thinking, generational diversity and assertiveness training. We are also continuously improving our HR processes in order to create the basis for promoting women at an early stage of their career. We also offer space for various networks in our company, for example the VWFS women's network with around 300 participants and our WeDriveProud community. One thing is certain: we value the different talents, skills and experiences that our employees bring to our 18 national companies in Europe. Gender, ethnic background, age, sexual orientation, religion, disability or other characteristics do not play a role for us when it comes to opportunities for a successful career.

Internal communication formats

Additionally, we offer various internal communication formats for dialogue within Volkswagen Financial Services. Besides management conferences for strategy development and leadership exchange, dialogue events for strategy communication are a matter of course for us. Regular formats for direct exchange between employees and the board or management are also well established. Through diverse internal online formats, Volkswagen Financial Services manages to stay in contact with its employees during remote work and ensure insightful and interactive communication across teams.

Our “Stimmungsbarometer”

The Volkswagen Group's Stimmungsbarometer is an integral part of our internal dialogue readiness. The survey captures the mood across the entire Volkswagen Group and aims to increase employee satisfaction through subsequent processes, particularly the discussions of results and the measures derived and implemented from them.

After the survey, managers and employees discuss and jointly develop solutions for employee motivation and their implementation. The Stimmungsbarometer gives employees of the Volkswagen Group the opportunity to become more involved by sharing their opinions and ideas.

Our company kindergarten "Frech Daxe"

Child or career? This question still arises for many young women and men. When choosing an employer, family-friendliness is at least as important as salary for employees with children.

Volkswagen Financial Services began to address this development early on. The company was a pioneer in the entire Braunschweig region when it set up its own company kindergarten "Frech Daxe" in April 2008.

Even today, the company kindergarten in Braunschweig remains one of the largest of any private company in Lower Saxony.

Our STÜTZRÄDER Initiative

Volunteering is the backbone of society. Every day, millions of people in Germany engage in clubs, foundations, or other non-profit organizations. Without this commitment, many areas of daily life and community would not be possible.

With the STÜTZRÄDER initiative, Volkswagen Financial Services supports its employees in this task and provides them with a one-time maximum amount of 5,000 euros. Projects supported by STÜTZRÄDER include the circus project of the support association for the KTK & Kita Veltenhof primary school, the baseball department of SV Lindenberg, the children's cancer care from Gifhorn, or the refugee assistance Papenteich.
