Frequently asked questions about full-time studies
Did I think of everything when I applied? We have put together some general information as well as the most frequently asked questions and answers to make your application to Volkswagen Financial Services easier.
When does full-time study begin?
The official start date for full-time studies is 01 August each year.
How much do I earn during my studies?
The remuneration for trainees is currently 1,827.00 Euros gross per month and is based on the current statutory minimum wage per hour within the meaning of § 1 para. 2 of the Minimum Wage Act (MiLoG), based on a 35-hour week.
What is the difference between this and a dual study programme?
While our dual study programmes take place in cooperation with universities of applied sciences (Leibniz FH, WelfenAkademie and Ostfalia) in class groups, you organise your full-time studies at the Technische Universität Braunschweig independently. University studies are characterised by a higher academic level. During the semester breaks and two practical semesters, you will gain valuable practical insights into various areas of our company.
How well do I have to know the subject?
You should definitely be interested, but explicit specialist knowledge is not required. In basic training you will learn the basics you need for your practical work in the departments.
What attachments do I need to include with my application?
It is mandatory to attach the last two certificates of the mainstream school as well as a CV. Applicants attending a secondary school should also enclose the most recent report card from this school, if available. Please note that applications will not be processed without complete report cards attached.
At what point are the report marks compared?
In the invitation to the interview, you will be asked to bring your school reports. At this time the information will be confirmed. Applicants who have provided false information will be eliminated from the selection process.
What is the pre-test and when do I take it?
To get to know you better, all applicants for an apprenticeship who meet our entry requirements receive an invitation to take an online pre-test. The test takes about 45 minutes and can be taken from any PC with internet access. The password sent with the invitation is valid for one week. For reasons of fairness to other candidates, pre-tests cannot be repeated once they have been started. Please make sure that you are not disturbed during the pre-test. Please note that each candidate may only take the test once! If you are in any doubt, please contact us by phone at 0531-212-899543 or by email at recruiting@vwfs.com.
Why is the login page for the pre-test not displayed?
We ask you to make sure you have a good internet connection. If you have entered the test participation link by hand in your browser, check your entry for typing errors. You will find detailed information on how to carry out the test in connection with browsers under the menu item “Help”. There, you can also download the required software to your computer.
After logging in, I see a start page – how can I start the test?
Scroll down on the start page. Click on the “Start now” button – the test will open in a new window. If a new window does not open after clicking the “Start now” button, deactivate your browser’s pop-up blocker (this is only necessary in exceptional cases, however).
The test cannot be displayed – only a blank page or the message “The website cannot be displayed” appears.
You may have lost connection to the Internet. We ask you to check your internet connection by opening any web page in a new window. If you have an internet connection, reload the test by refreshing the page. If this does not help, close the window and log out. Log in again using your credentials and restart the test. If the problem persists, check whether you have installed a suitable browser. You will find detailed information on the required browsers under the menu item “Help”. There, you can also download the required software to your computer.
